Description: (FREEBIE) Let's go on a picnic! The kids can drag the correct note or rest to finish the phrase in each part of the picnic. This activity focuses on quarter note, eighth notes (barred), and the quarter rest in a fun way. Update: I have added audio to the first 6 cards in this free deck. I hope the audio can strengthen and support struggling readers. The first 16 cards in the full set (available for purchase) now have audio. If you are doing this rhythm activity as a whole class, kids can use whiteboards to predict the correct answer as one student at a time comes to the front to choose an answer. You could also add the first phrase ("Let's go on a picnic!") in between all other phrases and have kids play along on a rhythm instrument. Lots of fun ideas. This set can easily fit into a unit or with other songs/books/games about bears and nature. There is a longer version of this same set with over 30 cards and more fun! Audio has been added to the first 16 cards of the full deck to help struggling readers. In the full set they can drag their favorite foods and animals, and they also are asked to identify the quarter note, quarter rest, and eighth notes. You can purchase this set in my Boom Store under "SweetMusic4All." Thank you and enjoy!
