Description: Back-to-school theme: Basic concepts SAME and DIFFERENT. There are three sets in this deck. 1) On each card there are twelve books. Eleven books are the same color and one book is a different color. Find the different book on each card. 2) On each card there are two books. On some cards the books are the same color, and on some cards the books are different colors. 3) On each card there are two backpacks. On some cards the backpacks are the same, and on some cards the backpacks are different. When teaching these concept, I usually hide the cards for one of the concepts. For example, when teaching different, I hide all of the same cards and go through the deck with students pointing out and emphasizing the DIFFERENT backpacks/books. When they have a stronger understanding of the concepts, I mix all cards in to practice. Have a more advanced student? Have the student describe the ways the backpacks are similar or different.
