Description: Pair this resource with the adorable storybook: "The Day The Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers. There's a really cute slightly animated version read aloud available on YouTube for distance learners. There are 4 activities included: 1. 13 Wh Story Comprehension Questions (mostly which & why questions) 2. 10 Character Traits & Feelings Cards: Read or ask the students to read the description and then identify and click the correct word that best describes the character. Ask students to explain what the word means, give examples, is it a positive or negative trait? why? 3. 11 Counting Scribbles Expanding Word Utterances Cards: Ask students to count the scribbles in the 10 frame. Then ask students to use the sentence starter (I see # scribbles) click the correct number (field of 3). 4. Who & Why Questions Character Traits: Ask students the who question and to click the correct crayon. Then ask students to explain the why part of the question. Refer back to the story if necessary (10 cards). Examples: who is the most neat and why? who was the most overworked and why?
