This deck targets how to identify and interpret sarcasm and is geared toward teens (grades 6-11) to help develop their social language skills. Students are presented with 12 different social scenarios in which sarcasm is used. For each scenario, various questions and prompts will guide the student to help them identify what the use of sarcasm really means. Students will break down and identify clues that will help them in this process, such as: - looking at body language - identifying tone of voice/exaggeration of different words - looking to see whether the words match the situation - looking at the actions that others are engaging in - making smart guesses about how others will be feeling in that situation. Each social scenario contains questions over 3-5 cards (using a combination of both multiple choice and open ended questions).
