Description
These 30 task cards cover rock and minerals as an introduction. In addition, the cards include sections on mineral and rock properties and crystal structure. Cards 1-7 have various colored backgrounds with mineral clipart and are multiple choice with 4 options. Some questions will ask for multiple answers. Card 8 features the 8 common elements that make up rocks and minerals. Students match the element symbol with the name. Card 9 asks the students to sort 10 different rocks and minerals into the proper category (rock or mineral). Cards 10 to 19 feature multiple-colored backgrounds with clip art and features 4 answer multiple choice questions. Some questions will require multiple answers. Card 20 ask student to drag and drop labels on 4 different kinds of crystals that are found in minerals. Cards 20 and 21 have students sort minerals into the correct order according to Moh’s scale of hardness. Questions 23 to 25 feature four option multiple choice questions on mineral properties. Questions 26 to 30 feature drag and drop questions on mineral testing. Students will sort between cleavage and fracture and drop into the proper group. In addition, students will be given various mineral and have to determine which one is harder than the other by using drag and drop.
