Description: This deck allows students to practice beginning sound recognition. Students will sort pictures by beginning sounds Tappers - the tip of their tongues tapping behind their mouths to make the sounds /d/ and /t/ (alveolar plosives) - Loud (voiced) & Quiet (unvoiced) or Poppers - popping their lips to make the sounds /b/ and /p/ (bilabial plosives) - Loud (voiced) & Quiet (unvoiced) There are two sorting decks. Students find the beginning sounds of the object pictured and move the objects that start with tip tappers to the basket. This activity works on articulation and sound awareness. It is a great accompaniment to the Lindamood-Bell LiPS program - however, students will need to be shown these pictures as they are not those used in that popular program.
