This activity is an open ended game that can be used by itself to develop/practice turn taking skills or in conjunction with your own resources as a simple reinforcement activity. This resource offers 4 variations of the layout enabling students to play multiple times with varied outcomes. Students of ALL ages love the surprise element of this game yet it is SIMPLE enough to use with your early learners. Take turns picking a Santa and see if you can be the player who leaves the most cookies for Santa. Player 1 says their speech targets and picks a Santa to see if there is a cookie behind him. If there is, they drag and drop it to the box labeled Player 1 and their turn ends. If there isn’t, it is Player 2’s turn. Player 2 says their speech targets and picks a Santa to see if there is a cookie behind him. If there is, Player 2 drags and drops it to the box labeled Player 2 and their turn ends. If there isn’t, it is Player 1’s turn. Santa’s can be discarded by swiping them off the left or right side of the page. Play continues until all the Santas are gone. Player who finds the most cookies wins! As always, happy learning!
