Description: These compound sentence task cards help students practice the Common Core Standard L.4.2.C by having students correctly recalling coordinating conjunctions and properly combining simple sentences using a comma and coordinating conjunction to make a compound sentence. (This resource is also part of a Commas Mega Bundle resource which is available at a discounted price.) They feature 5 different types of questions: Cards 1 consists of dragging and dropping coordinating conjunctions into a box. Cards 2-6 consist of dragging and dropping a comma into the proper spot in a compound sentence. Cards 7-12 consist of typing questions. Students must type the two sentence into the box combining them with a specified conjunction to create a compound sentence. Cards 13-18 consist of multiple choice and typing questions. Students must choose the conjunction that best combines the two sentences. Then, students type the two sentence into the box combining them with the conjunction they chose to create a compound sentence. Cards 19-24 consist of three multiple choices. Students select the sentence that properly completes the sentence making it into a compound sentence.
