Description: Perspective taking is the act of using situational context to infer what another person may be thinking or feeling. This requires an understanding of emotions, motivations, and reactions. This knowledge is coordinated with one's own prior experiences. It's a complicated process, and one that's critical for successful social engagement. This deck contains 50 picture scenes in total. The first 25 involve generating a single thought or comment, imagining what the character might be thinking or saying based on the information in the scene. The next 25 take this skill a step further to target basic conversational turn-taking. In these images, the student generates two statements, imagining what two characters may say to each other. There is no single correct response. This is an excellent activity to conduct in small groups so that discussion can occur about variations in responses.
