Description
This 33-card scavenger hunt will teach your students all about turkeys. While completing this hunt, students will learn the differences between wild turkeys and domestic turkeys, what unusual thing the snood and wattle do, how to react if they see a wild turkey during mating season, and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 16 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read a passage where the answer is found. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If they choose an incorrect answer, they can revisit the passage to find the correct one. The final card in the deck challenges students to write three interesting things they learned from the hunt. This hunt can be used as a Thanksgiving activity, as a supplement to a study of birds, to provide background information for a story, to practice reading informational text, for science or reading centers, as a whole class or independent activity, or as an easy activity for a sub.
