Description: Students practice their listening skills (recognizing numbers) and counting by tens in this activity. They click on the till to hear how much money they "owe", and then put the appropriate number of 10p coins on the counter next to the till and click submit to check their answer. Students need to be able to first recognize the number when they hear it, and then count by 10s to put the correct number of coins on the counter. Good for English language learners who need extra practice listening and recognizing numbers 10 through 90, or any students who need practice working on counting by 10s to reach a specific total. The amounts range from 10 pence to £1 (expressed as "one pound" and not "100 pence",) and the cards will be presented in a different order every time the game is played. With 10 cards in the deck, all 10 are presented each round. Although this is intended as a LISTENING activity, alt-text IS provided for the sounds.
