Description: Your students will view photos and read facts about squirrels to practice reading comprehension skills. They will identify details to answer Wh- questions. They will find out about different types of squirrels, their physical features, habits, nesting, diet, and how they prepare for winter. The photos are clear and cute. Audio support is provided by clicking on the speaker buttons so the students can listen while they read. - There is a different topic and photo on each slide. - There are 2-4 sentences of squirrel facts to go with the photo. - There is a wh- question related to a fact. - The students will have three choices to click on to indicate their answer. Other Activities: The deck can be shown to a class to build a background by previewing the photos on a screen. The deck also lends to a class discussion after completing the deck to discuss how squirrels are the same and different, to describe their food, and to explain why squirrels are so busy in the fall.
