Description: This deck was designed to practice inferring information from a picture (level 4 in my intervention hierarchy). Students look at the photo or object depicted on each task card and determine the best answer from 4 multiple choice options. ***NOTE: This deck is designed for special educators utilizing errorless teaching methodologies. The incorrect choices have been eliminated from this deck. Although four answer choices are depicted on each card, the student is only able to select the correct answer.*** Info inferred from the photos and objects depicted in this deck: -it must be the dog's birthday -they must be in the kitchen -something must be funny -it must be nighttime -someone must be going to the beach -the dog must be hungry -she must be painting -she must be tired -it must be daytime -he must be checking the time -she must be sneezing -he must be at the beach -she must be playing tennis -he must be singing -she must be shopping Teaching inferencing skills in special education is often difficult and tedious. I use the following levels of intervention to teach inferencing skill sets: 1) infer action based on object 2)infer from feature 3) infer by association 4) infer from picture 5) infer from situational text and picture 6) infer from highlighted words in a short text 7) infer from connected text (preferred topic) 8) infer from connected text (nonpreferred topic) Enjoy & Always Have Fun!
