Description: This activity introduces the difference between the words "want" and "need." This can be helpful when teaching students the basic understanding of the words before introducing a higher level explanation of needs vs. wants. In this activity needs is defined as things that are required to complete a task or activity while wants are preferences. Once this concept is understood, the definition can be narrowed to things or activities that are required / not required to live. This activity is intended to be used with a therapist/teacher and is not self-scoring.
