Description: Looking for a fun way to practice spelling short vowel words with beginning consonant blends? This spring themed Drag and Spell activity mimics the magnetic tiles used in many Orton-Gillingham programs, and it's a great way to build phonics knowledge and spelling vowel teams. Using Elkonin boxes and letter tiles with one sound per letter also builds phonemic awareness and orthographic mapping, which leads to better reading fluency! How it Works: Students see a picture and click to hear the word pronounced. Then they drag letter tiles into boxes to spell the word. Good to Know: • There are 40 self-checking digital task cards • Audio is included for all words and the instructions • All words contain closed syllables (short vowels) and 4 phonemes. They all have beginning consonant blends and a few have digraphs at the end as well. If your students aren't ready for these you can simply hide these cards.
