Description: Students will use a variety of measurement and estimation skills while reading balance scales in this fun, Groundhog Day themed activity. There are TWO activities in this deck. Activity 1: Students will see a balance scale and determine which item: is heavier is lighter weighs more weighs less Activity 2: Students will see an item and a labeled (grams) weight in the balance scale. Students will estimate the weight of the item using the information from the weight and scale position. This deck includes a late winter/ early spring background, groundhogs, and vegetables typically consumed by groundhogs graphics.
