Description: This fun, seasonal activity targets the skill of using context clues to determine the meaning of vocabulary. Each passage is embedded with a targeted vocabulary word. After reading each passage, students are asked to use context clues to determine the meaning of the vocabulary word. Each question includes a field of choices for extra support. On the next card, students are asked to highlight the most pertinent context clues. After every three passages, students will use the targeted vocabulary words to complete a short story! This activity targets reading comprehension, context clues and vocabulary.
