Description: Combine your students' love of ocean animals and Santa by using this fun Christmas toy inference activity that targets "what" questions and understanding of object functions and categories, using letters to Santa! Pairs perfectly with the song, "Santa Shark," too, for even more fun! Read the letter each sea animal wrote to Santa Shark and use the provided visuals to guess what they are asking for. Use the sentence strip provided as a visual for working on expanding utterances/using a complete sentence to guess what the animals want. After your guess, move the envelope to the mailbox. Go to the next slide to see if you guessed right by clicking and dragging the gift box open to reveal the gift from Santa Shark, again using the sentence strip to work on pronoun "he" and expanding utterances. Bonus material: Play with the gifts from Santa Shark! Follow the directions on each of these slides to have the animals play with their new gifts- have squid paint a picture and make the stingray jump on his new trampoline! Lastly, feed Santa Shark milk and cookies- he's hungry and thirsty after all those deliveries!
