Description: Grades: 5-12 Life Skills - Grocery Store Functional Vocabulary Audio Recording reads each instructional and multiple choice slide to accommodate non-readers. Audio plays automatically when cards load. This activity uses real photos and mature color scheme to make it appropriate for all ages. Description: This activity is designed for individuals who need to expand their understanding and use of vocabulary words needed for functional tasks. This card deck includes modeling and repetition of 9 target vocabulary words including: Meat Dairy Bakery Produce Frozen Deli Canned Produce Pharmacy Checkout The deck begins with an instructional slide with audio reading of the information on the slide. The menu slide has links to go to each vocabulary section. Each section has 4 cards. The first is an instructional card with an audio reading of the sentence. The second card has audio recording with 3 multiple choice pictures to identify items from that section. The third card has drag and drop to fill in the blank with the name of the department. No audio recording. The last card for each section has a fill in the blank sentence that students need to type the name of the department. This fill in the blank card accepts all responses to accommodate misspellings and will need to be graded by a person. No audio recording. The vocabulary words "department" and "section" are both used interchangeably to describe the different areas in the store.
