Description
This 39-card scavenger hunt will teach your students interesting facts about the lightning that occurs during a thunderstorm severe weather event. While completing the hunt, students will learn exactly what causes lightning, different kinds of lighting (common and uncommon types), how lightning is beneficial to the planet, and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 19 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its answer choices. Then they read a short passage where the answer is found. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. This is a great supplement to add to a study of natural disasters or weather, to provide background information for a story, to have students practice reading informational text, for a reading/science center, or as an easy activity for a sub.
