Grades: 4,5,6,7,8

Description: This is a Complex Sentence activity that introduces your student to the adjective clause by asking them to combine two sentences by using the words (Who, Whose, That, and Which). For instance, “The girl, whose dog was missing, went to the park to find it.”. This deck is perfect for a student that has a good grasp of simple sentences yet needs to add some complexity to their speech. Your students will receive a 61 card deck with 48 fill-in-the-blank prompts and 24 open-ended cards which will let you assess their skill to form these forms independently. The cards work well with any student ( grades 4-10) or best when used with students who have mild cognitive delays yet basic language skills. An independent lesson will take about 30 minutes. however, if you are using it as a teaching tool during instruction, the lesson can easily fill 60 minutes with breaks in between for group discussion. When I use this with my speech groups, I review for two thirty-minute sessions to stabilize this skill.
