Description
Social Situations #1 is an interactive Boom Card deck designed to help students practice social problem solving and social communication skills. Students are presented with different everyday social situations and asked to think about what is happening, identify the problem, consider how someone might be feeling, and decide on an appropriate response. The situations provide opportunities to work on perspective taking, making inferences, flexible thinking, understanding feelings, and choosing appropriate social responses. The deck can also be used to encourage discussion by asking students to explain why they selected an answer or what else someone could say or do in the situation. The cards are appropriate for a range of students from elementary through high school and can be used during speech-language therapy, social skills groups, special education, individual sessions, or small-group instruction.
