Description
This is a 33-card scavenger hunt that will teach your students interesting facts about animal mothers and the interactions they have with their babies. It can be used as a Mother's Day activity or a supplement to any story or study of animals. While completing this hunt students will learn why the life of an octopus mother is a difficult one, why strawberry dart frog mothers raise their children in separate places, why a koala mother feeds her babies poop, and more. To complete the hunt, students read a multiple-choice question. Then they read a passage that will help them answer the question. Students receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. In addition to it being used as a Mother's Day activity, it can be used as background information to a story, to supplement a study of animals, to practice reading informational text, or an easy activity for a sub.
