Description
This is a deck targeting the paralinguistic aspects of speech: words that are stressed in sentences. It seeks to draw the student's attention to the word that 'sounds' important in a sentence because it can change the entire meaning being conveyed. Our students on the autism spectrum struggle with this skill and the goal of this deck is to help them practice their listening skills so they are better able to decipher what is being communicated. Each task card has a sentence with 4 choices of words to pick from. They are required to choose the word that is stressed in each sentence.
