EACH individual deck within the bundle contains: * explanations of main idea and details, visual supports to help distinguish the two concepts, * 8 seasonally-themed paragraphs per deck (8 for summer, 8 for fall, 8 for winter, and 8 for spring) * opportunities to practice identifying main ideas and details from each (1 main idea and 4 details per topic) The first two cards in each deck explain the concepts of main ideas and details. Since this is a seasonal-themed bundle, the fourth and fifth cards compare main idea and details to a flower (spring), lemonade (summer), pumpkin pie (fall), and snowman (winter). Each of those seasonal icons is the main idea. Each part or ingredient in each are the details. When you add the details together, you get the main idea. The final 16 cards in each deck includes 8 paragraphs about summer, fall, spring, or winter topics (ex. hurricanes, sunflowers, sea turtles, jack-o-lanterns, spiders, apples, polar bears, hot cocoa, skiing, baseball, strawberries, bunnies, and more). After each paragraph, students label 5 statements (1 main idea and 4 details) by dragging and dropping the visual images of the main idea or details.
