Each hunt is filled with interesting facts and information about the symbol it covers. Here's some of the facts students will learn while completing the hunts: Pledge of Allegiance hunt - who wrote it, what celebration it was originally written for, how it has changed over the years American Flag hunt - when it was created, who created it, its symbolization, and how it has changed over the years. Statue of Liberty hunt - who suggested the statue be built, how large it is, why it is green, what different parts symbolize Liberty Bell hunt - learn how it became a symbol of America, why it is cracked Mount Rushmore hunt - why it was created, what each president on the monument represents, how large it is Bald Eagles hunt - why it is the national bird, why Benjamin Franklin thought it wasn't the best bird choice, characteristics In each hunt students are presented with multiple-choice questions. After they read a question, they read a passage that at will help them answer the question. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they are redirected to the passage again to find the correct answer. The final card in each hunt challenges students to write 3 interesting facts they learned from the hunt.
